New Parking Solutions Amidst Long-Standing Walls
International Renovation Projects from Wöhr
Conversion measures and renovation projects for historical buildings are among the challenges we face in modern times. The most important aspect of this work is to preserve the buildings, which are almost inevitably used in ways not originally intended. As soon as deluxe apartments and business offices are planned, the question of where to park arises. Finding a solution is very difficult when additional space does not immediately present itself.
Innovative parking systems make the impossible possible, however, even for renovation projects. The following are notable examples of how we were able to meet parking requirements in real-world situations.
„The invisible garage“
Parking is especially a problem in cities. But a system that borders on magic offers a solution here. Stacked platforms for 1 to 3 cars, or 2 to 6 cars in double system configuration, "disappear" under ground. The decorative cover plate on top of the units remains in view and can be driven over.

But how could these be accommodated where only a few horse-drawn carriages had once stopped? Intelligent drilled piles and a state-of-the-art parking system opened up new space under the old coach house.

The free-standing steel parking tower braces the landmarked street-side façade, where cars exit the building. A total of 84 parking places are "hidden" behind this and used for the renovated offices and apartments in the Albany building, originally erected close to the docks in the financial district in 1858.
